FULL-CIRCLE PVC RECYCLING® Program

Our FULL-CIRCLE PVC RECYCLING program redefines how the building industry handles waste. This cutting-edge program closes the loop by collecting jobsite scraps, off-cuts, and used materials from contractors, OEMs, and fabricators, reprocessing them into raw material for new decking, siding, trim, and cladding.

This cycle benefits both building and design professionals, and the environment by reducing waste disposal costs, attracting eco-conscious clients, and decreasing overall carbon footprints. It’s a win-win for sustainable building practices.

01

Collection | Scraps and by-products are gathered directly from jobsites and facilities.

02

Reprocessing | These materials are refined and transformed into high-quality raw inputs.

03

Rebirth | Recycled material is used to manufacture sustainable, long-lasting products.

Superior performance with lower carbon footprints

The AZEK Company is committed to transparent measures of environmental impact. We’ve conducted rigorous Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to compare our products to traditional materials like ipe hardwood, known for its heavy environmental footprint.

TimberTech Advanced PVC

26%

Lower lifecycle carbon footprint vs. pine decking.

89%

Lower lifecycle carbon footprint vs. Brazilian Tropical IPE Decking.

TimberTech Composite

15%

Lower lifecycle carbon footprint vs. pine decking.

88%

Lower lifecycle carbon footprint vs. Brazilian Tropical IPE Decking.

Unlike ipe, which requires logging of slow-growing rainforest trees, TimberTech Advanced PVC Decking and Cladding is crafted from up to 65% recycled material, with no trees cut down in the process.

Ipe has a high-life cycle carbon footprint due to excessive deforestation to create roads for transporting harvested tress, intensive transportation from South America, and frequent chemical maintenance. TimberTech products are made in the USA, travel fewer miles, and are designed for low-maintenance care using biodegradable cleaners. This results in a sustainable solution engineered to last, reducing the need for frequent replacements or resource usage over time.

*According to LCA studies and company estimates. The LCA studies assume a net area of 1,000 ft2, a 50-year lifetime and 60% recycled content for TimberTech Advanced PVC decking, an average 27.8-year lifetime and 80% recycled content for TimberTech Composite decking, a 25-year lifetime for Ipe decking and a 10-year lifetime for pine decking. The LCA study on IPE decking assumes a base case of 30% illegal harvesting and includes emissions associated with land-use change. For TimberTech decking, the location-based method was used to measure the emissions from electricity use in the manufacturing phase of the LCA. A location-based method reflects the average emissions intensity of the electrical grid on which energy consumption occurs. This method is the most conservative approach.
